Conference Champions!
Congratulations to the Ponca Boys Basketball team and coaches for an awesome win over Winnebago in overtime to earn the title of 2012 Lewis and Clark Boys Basketball Tournament Champions. Ponca out scored Winnebago 64-51. The win moves the boys to an 18-2 record for the season.
In the history of Ponca Boys Basketball, Ponca has won the Lewis and Clark Tournament Championship title 14 times. Head Coach, Bob Hayes and Assistant, Mike Brandt have won 10 of the 14 titles together over the past 22 years. Coach Hayes was the assistant under Coach Steve Semmons for ten years before coming the head coach of the Ponca Indians. They won the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament Championship three times: 1981, 1983, and 1989. In 1971, Coach Larry Buhl was the head coach when Ponca won the first Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament Title.
The boys have only two regular season games remaining that will be both played at home. Friday, February 10th against Homer and Friday, February 17th against Creighton
